BS 9999 Workshop Meeting 2nd November 2009 at BRE Watford
The workshop for British Standard BS 9999 was a huge success held at BRE in Garston, Watford.
Following the opening presentations by Peter Caplehorn (Scott Brownrigg), Andrew Hedges (Arup Fire), Glyn Jones (Approved Inspector Services) and Paul Jenkins (London Fire Brigade), which can be found below, the discussions focussed on views and experiences of BS 9999 in the first year of its publication. The code of practice for fire safety in the design, management and use of buildings gives recommendations and guidance to provide an acceptable standard of fire safety for people using buildings and IFE members played a significant role in its formulation.
The key findings from this event will be communicated to the British Standards Committee FSH 14 so that these issues or concerns may be considered in any future revisions to BS 9999.
