Dr James Marsden has worked for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service for 30 years and during this time has gained considerable experience in Fire fighting and Fire Safety. Jim is currently working in the field of fire engineering with responsibility for major fire engineering projects within the County of Greater Manchester.
Jim graduated from the University of Central Lancashire in 2000 with a BEng Hons degree in fire engineering and 2005 was awarded a PhD for his thesis entitled 'Experimental and Numerical Studies of Whirling Flames'. Dr Marsden is a Chartered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institution of Fire Engineers and a member of the Energy Institute. Jim also represents the Northwest Branch of the Institution of Fire Engineers in the role of General Assembly Member.
