Responsible for the development of the Buro Happold Leeds office and the fire engineering group FEDRA. Chairman of the fire safety task group at the IStructE. Past chairman of the industrial liaison committee Sheffield University. Professional contributions to BSI, CIRIA, CRISP, CIBSE, ODPM research framework, IStructE including contributions on a number of publications on sports grounds, tall buildings, structures in fire and smoke control.
