STUDENT MEMBERSHIP- EXCITING NEW DEVELOPMENT
Launch of Special Rate for Full-Time Students
Fire engineers who are either part-time students or are currently working within the fire engineering industry are eligible to apply for Student membership, which requires the payment of an annual subscription.
However, the IFE is delighted to now be able to offer a new FTE (Full Time Education) rate for full-time students of fire engineering. The new FTE Student category allows eligible students to pay a one-off fee on application, which is the same as the subscription fee for one year, and then to benefit from free membership for remaining duration of their studies (up until 31 December of their final year of study). In order to qualify for this new FTE Student membership, applicants must:
- Be full-time students of fire engineering.
- Complete the application form Application for Membership Full Time Education Student Grade. This can be downloaded from the website (please select the Membership link).
- Ensure that the Present Study Programme details on the application form are fully completed and that the form has an official stamp from the course provider.
- Send the application form and payment to: The Membership Administrator, The Institution of Fire Engineers, London Road, Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire, GL56 0RH.
- Notify the Membership Administrator, at the address shown above, if they leave the course before the date stipulated on their application form.
Where an applicant is already a Student member and has already paid annual subscription fees, no refund will be paid. However, if a Student member wishes to convert to the FTE Student category and is eligible to do so, he/she will need to complete the form Application for Membership Full Time Education Student Grade. This can be downloaded from the website (please select the Membership link).
If an eligible Student member applies to convert to FTE Student member, he/she can do so free of charge provided that he/she has paid the Student membership fee for the current year.
IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR NON-UK BASED FIRE ENGINEERS
Where members reside in a country which has an overseas branch, applicants in that country should apply via the local branch. All application forms and payments should be submitted to the local overseas branch and the local branch must be informed of any change of circumstance related to the eligibility of FTE Student membership.
