Q: Can I defer my examination to the following year?
A: Candidates may defer their examination once the following policy has been adhered to:
The Institution of Fire Engineers examination deferral policy
- All fees are non refundable.
- To sit the examinations the candidate must be a fully paid up member.
- Deferral requests must be in writing (letter/fax/e-mail)
- Candidates can defer for one year only.
- Deferral requests received by the Institution and in writing after the 31st December are subject to a £15.00 administration fee per paper and a valid reason (e.g. a medical condition supported by a certificate). Lack of study time will NOT be accepted as a valid reason.
