The Intermediate Examination

The Intermediate examination consists of 2 papers.

The time allowed for each paper is 2 hours.

Intermediate Paper 1 is a multiple-choice paper and candidates indicate their chosen responses by marking the answer sheet with a pencil. Candidates achieving 60% or above will pass Intermediate Paper 1.

Intermediate Paper 2 requires the candidate to provide short, written responses to 20 questions. Candidates achieving 40% or above will pass Intermediate Paper 2.

Candidates are not required to pass both papers in the same year, but must be successful within two consecutive examination years in order to meet the academic requirement for the Technician grade of membership.
