  • IFE Involvement with BRE Research Project into Car Park Fires

CLG (Sustainable Buildings Division) has commissioned BRE to carry out a three-year project titled Fire Spread in Car Parks.
Although fires in car parks tend to be uncommon there exists a shortage of information regarding new and emerging risks from modern cars and alternative fuels. The overall aim of the project is to gather information on the nature of fires involving the current design of cars and to use this new knowledge as a basis for updating current guidance.
The IFE is represented through TSAG on the Project Advisory Group (PAG) along with other relevant stakeholders.
