Synopsis
Brief Synopsis
A firefighter (Ff) was killed when he fell from an appliance en-route to a call that turned out to be a false alarm malicious (FAM) (House & Settle, 2016).
The Ff was onboard a Dennis motor pump that was responding to the FAM set by a youth, who pleased that ‘he had done it for a joke’. The Ff fell from the moving appliance and hit his head on the kerb and died ‘almost instantly’. One youth was sent to prison for 2 months while another who was stood by at the time of the call was fined £10 (Unknown author, 1946).
