Synopsis

Brief Synopsis

A firefighter (Ff) was injured on the 29th September due to the burns resulting from a fire involving petrol, caused by slop-over from open buckets of petrol being used for refuelling trailer pumps, whilst carrying a hurricane lamp. The trailer pumps were supplying water to Fletcher & Son Paper Mill during drought conditions. The Ff died later on the 11th October 1947 as a result of the injuries sustained (House & Settle, 2016).
