Synopsis

Brief Synopsis

A firefighter (Ff) died on the 28th May 1966 (House & Settle et al, 2017).

It is understood from press articles via The Blackburn Fire History Phoenix Project that the 42-year-old Ff died after collapsing while tackling the fire. The Ff had been holding a branch with another Ff at the time the collapse (Unknown author, unknown date).

It is not currently known what the cause of the stated collapse was e.g. if this was a heart attack, other cause of illness and subsequent death or if there were any other contributing factors.
