Synopsis

Brief synopsis

On the 9th December 1976 a firefighter (Ff) sustained injuries when the appliance overturned in icy conditions whilst responding to a fire call. He died from these injuries on 14th December 1976. The appliance was part of a make-up for a fire at a spinning mill at Lindley. After skidding, the appliance left the road, demolishing a lean-to kitchen and a roadside house and plunged down a steep, tree covered bank (House & Settle et al, 2017 and Unknown author, 1976).
