Synopsis

Brief synopsis

A firefighter (Ff) died on the 2nd November 1982 from injuries sustained in a training accident on what was understood to be the second day of his recruit training (House & Settle et al, 2017).

It is currently understood that the new recruit had a previously unidentified ‘hole in the heart’ defect that led to his death during ‘hose Tuesday’ (CFRCSS, 2017).
