Join us for the IFE Midlands branch AGM and CPD event 2025. The event promises three insightful talks from three speakers; ROCWOOL UK Fire Protection Consultant Mike Meakin, former lead of multiple Fire Safety teams Francis Quinn, and our Member Services Administrator Nicky Kirby. The event is also qualified for 3 hours of CPD
First Talk
If you are involved with the provision of fire protection at any level, then you share liability for its usefulness and operation in the event of a fire. our first speaker Mike Meakin will be asking if you actually know and understand your liability. Mike Meakin leverages over 14 years of experience in building and construction to provide expert guidance on passive fire protection. He works closely with industry professionals, offering insights to enhance fire safety and compliance.
Second Talk
Our second speaker Francis Quinn from the client’s perspective asks “What can a competent Fire Risk assessor do to better assist their client (and how to find them)?”. A Chartered Engineer coming from a customer-focussed background Francis Quinn has held senior Change Management roles within Local Government and Construction/Housing throughout the UK, often setting up Fire Safety teams and working with many Fire Risk Assessors and associated organisations where SKEB Competence frequently is identified as a ‘challenge’
Third Talk
Finally, in keeping with the competence theme, our afternoon speaker Nicky Kirby from the membership services team at IFE House will be exploring IFE Membership and Engineering Council registration opportunities.
