From our Yorkshire & Humberside branch
Join us for this
free, online event providing an accessible overview of computational modelling within fire safety engineering, presented by Yorkshire & Humberside branch President Joe Hart. This webinar includes a 30 minute early-careers session which have proved invaluable for delegates at previous Yorkshire & Humberside branch webinars.
Early Careers Session
This introductory session is aimed at students, graduates, and those new to fire safety engineering. It will cover the fundamentals of computational modelling, its role within fire safety design, and how modelling tools are typically applied in practice. The session will also explore how developing an understanding of modelling can support early career progression.
Main Session
The main session will provide a broader overview of computational modelling in fire safety, focusing on its application within real projects. Topics will include the purpose and limitations of modelling, common methodologies, and how outputs are interpreted to inform design decisions. The session will also address good practice, professional judgement, and the importance of proportionate and appropriate use of modelling techniques. The session will also include a dedicated section on the modelling of residential corridors.
