Safer Sphere is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Fire Engineer to lead the development of our Fire Engineering division.
This is a rare opportunity to build and lead a Fire Engineering service within an established, award-winning consultancy, with the autonomy to influence strategy, shape the service offering and play a key role in the future growth of the business.
For the right person, this role offers a genuine pathway towards Director-level progression, alongside the opportunity to participate in the long-term success of the division through a future performance-linked share incentive arrangement.
Supported by an established client base, experienced leadership team and a growing Building Safety division, you'll have the platform to create something significant and make a lasting impact on the future of the business.
The Role
As Associate Director – Fire Engineering, you'll lead the development, growth and delivery of our Fire Engineering services across residential, commercial, mixed-use and high-rise developments throughout the UK.
Working closely with the senior leadership team, you'll shape the future direction of the service, develop client relationships, support business growth and build a high-performing Fire Engineering team.
This is a strategic leadership role with significant opportunity for progression as the division grows.

Key responsibilities include:
Leading and growing the Fire Engineering division
Delivering fire strategies and technical advice across a range of projects
Supporting, developing and mentoring a growing technical team
Developing client relationships and securing repeat business
Supporting business development and identifying new opportunities
Acting as a senior technical representative for Safer Sphere
Shaping the long-term direction and growth of the Fire Engineering division
About You
You'll be technically strong, commercially aware and confident leading projects, people and client relationships.
You'll ideally have:
Significant Fire Engineering experience
Chartered Engineer (CEng) status
Strong knowledge of PAS 9980 and current fire safety legislation
Experience leading complex projects and technical teams
A collaborative, pragmatic and solutions-focused approach
The ambition to help grow and shape a business division
