Salary – £120,000

Hours – Full Time/Permanent - 40 hours (8am - 5pm, Monday – Friday)

Role Overview

As part of our continued growth, we are looking to strengthen our Chartered Fire Engineering capability, supporting clients across the UK with fire engineering and complex building assessments.

The role will involve providing technical fire engineering advice across a range of building types, developing fire strategies, undertaking technical assessments, and supporting clients in achieving safe and compliant buildings.

Requirements

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) with relevant professional membership
  • Degree (BEng/MEng) or equivalent qualification in Fire Engineering, Fire Safety Engineering or a related discipline
  • At least 4 years’ experience working in a professional fire engineering role
  • Experience developing fire strategies for higher-risk buildings
  • Experience reviewing, assessing, and providing quality assurance of complex fire strategies
  • Experience with PAS 9980, FRAEW, FRA and external wall systems

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional fire engineering advice to clients, project teams and colleagues
  • Develop, review, and implement fire strategies for a range of building types and uses
  • Produce Single Building Assessments
  • Undertake technical fire engineering assessments and provide practical recommendations
  • Review building designs, construction information and proposed fire safety measures for compliance with relevant requirements
  • Identify fire safety risks, technical issues and areas requiring further investigation or specialist input
  • Produce clear, accurate and technically robust reports, assessments and other fire safety documentation
  • Communicate technical findings and recommendations clearly to clients and other project stakeholders
  • Support clients with fire safety matters and, where required, assist with engagement with enforcing authorities
  • Maintain professional competence through ongoing CPD and technical development
  • Support the development of Global HSE's fire engineering services and technical standards
  • Participate in departmental training, knowledge sharing and quality assurance activities
  • Mentor existing employees and graduates through their CPD
