Level 3 / Level 4 Fire Safety Tutor

Xact is looking for enthusiastic and professional fire safety tutors to help deliver its suite of training courses, qualifications and apprenticeship programmes.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  1. Provide training and instruction in fire safety to Xact’s customers and apprentices.
  2. Deliver Xact’s programme of Level 3/4 fire safety courses and qualifications.
  3. Deliver Xact’s other courses and qualifications (e.g. Level 2 award in Fire Safety Checks etc.).
  4. Courses will be delivered both virtually using Xact’s online delivery platform (e.g. Zoom) and via face to face at customer and Xact locations across the UK.
  5. Provide feedback on Xact’s courses.
  6. When required assist in the development of Xact’s courses, qualification and training resources.
  7. Attend and contribute at development and standardisation meetings/activities.
  8. Develop and maintain competence commensurate with level of courses being delivered. Maintain and provide an up-to-date CPD record upon request.

Uphold and promote Xact’s safeguarding policies and procedures.

Qualifications and experience:

You must have

  • Practical experience in the fire safety sector (Minimum 3-5 years).
  • Competence and experience of applying technical fire safety e.g. Article 50 Guidance, ADB, British Standards (BS 9999, BS 999 etc.).
  • In depth knowledge and application of associated fire safety legislation (e.g. RR(FS)O etc.)
  • A fire safety qualification or working towards e.g. Level 4 Diploma in fire safety or equivalent fire safety/fire risk assessment qualification.*
  • Membership of relevant professional body (preferable) e.g. IFE, IFSM etc.
  • A teaching qualification or working towards (qualification development may be offered for the right candidate)*.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Team oriented and flexible approach.
  • Professional attitude and appearance.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Proactive work ethic.
  • Able to work independently with confidence.
  • Evidence and awareness of learning styles, reasonable adjustments and additional need support.
  • Understand own and Xact’s responsibilities to Safeguarding and creating a safe working environment for all.
  • Clean DBS checks (up to enhanced) may be required for the role.
  • Driving license. Be prepared to travel regularly to Xact and customer locations.

Note*: Successful candidates will be required to achieve as a minimum, a Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) qualification and relevant fire safety qualifications as part of their role.
