IFE launches campaign to support fire safety professionals seeking HRB registration

The Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) is launching a campaign to help members and fire safety professionals understand the importance of Higher Risk Building (HRB) registration and the route available through the IFE.

Running from 2 November to 9 December, the campaign will provide practical information on HRB registration, helping professionals understand the requirements, benefits and steps involved in demonstrating their competence when working in relation to higher risk buildings.

Throughout the campaign, the IFE will explore different aspects of HRB registration, including the competency and commitment requirements, the HRB Fire Engineering Annex and the application process. Content will also address common misconceptions and explain how HRB registration differs from other forms of professional registration, including the standard CEng route.

The campaign will showcase the experiences of professionals who have achieved HRB registration, providing insight into their professional journeys and the value of demonstrating their knowledge, skills and professional standing in relation to higher risk buildings.

As the fire safety sector continues to place greater emphasis on competence and professional standards, HRB registration provides a route for eligible professionals to demonstrate their competence against the requirements established for fire engineering professionals working on higher risk buildings.

The IFE provides guidance and resources to support professionals throughout the registration process, including information on eligibility, application requirements and the UK-SPEC HRB Fire Discipline Annex. The institution will also host a webinar to provide further information on HRB registration and the IFE route.

By improving understanding of HRB registration and providing clear information on the requirements and support available, the IFE aims to help fire safety professionals make informed decisions about their professional development and demonstrate their competence in this important area of fire safety.

Follow the IFE on LinkedIn to learn more about HRB registration, hear from registered professionals and discover the support available through the IFE. Alternatively, join us on 26 November for a webinar discussing HRB registration which will provide guidance for your application.
