Nuclear Power – Industrial Fire and Risk Special Interest Group Colloquium

The Institution of Fire Engineers, through its Industrial Fire and Risk Special Interest Group, (IF&R SIG), is pleased to announce a 3-day colloquium to be held at Bangor University in North Wales, between Tuesday 17th and Thursday 19th October 2017.

This event will be a significant learning and CPD event for a variety of delegates involved in, or wishing to understand more, about the nuclear power industry, fire and risk and how these lessons can be applied in other areas of industry. Delegates will be able to:

  • Network with like-minded professionals from industry, government and the nuclear power station construction industry
  • Meet with UK and international leading fire and risk design engineers who are decision makers
  • Network with leading academic organisations who inform upcoming fire engineers of latest technology
  • Connect with professional individuals at networking opportunities including a cocktail evening (17.10.17) and the event dinner (18.10.17)

The programme will cover:

  • Day 1 – A morning of expert interactive lectures and an afternoon ‘technology workshop’;
  • Day 2 – A review of industry best practice, standards, firefighting and emergency response management, international regulatory developments, risk and resilience;
  • Day 3 – A review of turbine fires: owners and operators, fire and emergency responders, fire engineers, local and international regulators and insurers, but to name a few!

Cancellations and amendments

Cancellations or amendments must be received in writing by post, fax or email 10 working days before the date of the event and will be subject to a £50 administration fee.  Cancellations received after this time, or not put in writing, will be subject to the full fee, which will also be charged in the event of non-attendance.  Substitutions may be made at anytime.
