Approved Qualifications for Membership

This website contains a list of qualifications which will be accepted by IFE as meeting the academic part of the requirement for membership at the appropriate grade.

Alternative Qualifications

Applicants not holding IFE examinations or a qualification currently accepted by IFE as meeting the academic requirement may have their qualification considered in support of an application for membership. The subject matter is assessed individually, taking account of the applicant's current involvement in fire engineering and their training and experience.

Accordingly it is not possible to 'list' acceptable qualifications. Applicants will need to demonstrate the relevance of the qualification by identifying how the syllabus content is of relevant to their current professional activities.
