New IFE Board of Directors installed

The IFE is pleased to announce its new Board of Directors for 2020-2021, following the installation of two new Trustees.

The new Board of Directors was announced at the IFE’s 97th AGM on 3rd November 2020, which took place as a closed meeting due to the COVID-19 restrictions. The newest Board members are Mark Chubb and Peter Wilkinson. Get to know our new trustees below.

Mark joined the IFE as a member in 1994 and was among the small group responsible for forming the USA Branch in 1996. He served as their branch secretary/treasurer until 1999 when he moved to New Zealand to accept a position with the New Zealand Fire Service (now Fire and Emergency New Zealand). He credits his IFE credentials for helping him secure the position in New Zealand by making the quality of his U.S. experience and education clear and relevant. In 2000, Mark was elected to serve a two-year term as a branch councillor for the New Zealand Branch.

Over a 40-year career, Mark has held senior, technical and executive positions in fire services in New Zealand and the United States. He retired from the fire service in 2015 and accepted a role leading the remediation monitoring programme of the Alliance for Bangladesh Worker Safety in Dhaka. He currently serves as a principal with Code Unlimited in Seattle WA and oversees the firm's fire protection practice. He also serves on the adjunct faculty of John Jay College of Criminal Justice at City University of New York where he teaches graduate courses in emergency management.

Mark has served on the USA Branch board of directors since 2014 and was branch president from 2014 - 2016. He is currently the branch's representative to the International General Assembly (IGA) and has served as IGA vice leader and leader from 2018 to 2020.
